The Queen of Illéa is the female leader of the monarchy. Originally, the queen was the wife of the King of Illéa and the winner of the Selection.
Her main duties were to oversee palace life.
King Maxon and America Schreave changed the law, so a woman could inherit the throne. Afterwards, the queen could be the equivalent of a king politically and could rule the country.
Her husband would be called "Prince Consort".
